HAMPDEN – The northbound highway ramps between Interstate 95 and the Coldbrook Road will be closed for part of today for paving.
The Maine Department of Transportation is closing the northbound offramp at Exit 180 (formerly Exit 44) for half the day in the morning, and the northbound on-ramp for the other half of the day.
Today’s road work is part of a DOT contract covering three separate interstate improvement projects in the Bangor and Howland areas.
The work includes culvert improvements, guardrail updates, and removal and replacement of deteriorated pavement. It will cover Interstate 395 from the Odlin Road to the Main Street overpass, I-95 northbound from the Hampden rest area to just north of the Coldbrook Road overpass, and nearly 3 miles of I-95 northbound in Edinburgh-Howland.
All three projects should be completed by late August.
