OLD TOWN – Bangor won the District 3 ages 11-12 all-star softball title Sunday, finishing the tournament undefeated by defeating Old Town 18-9.

Old Town had edged Lincoln 8-6 on Saturday to advance to the championship round.

On Sunday, Steph Comstock had three singles and a double to pace Bangor. Hilary Throckmorton and Kim Jordan each had two singles and a double in helping Bangor qualify for the state tournament.

Whitney Leland and Hannah Martin each tripled for Old Town and Amy Singer doubled.

On Saturday, Singer and Micayla Hussey each had RBI singles to pace Old Town.

Morin notched three singles for the winners and Leland had a triple.

Jessica Fortin got Lincoln’s lone hit, a single.

At Ellsworth, Mike Curtis and Tom Sawyer each had two singles, a double and two RBIs to lead Ellsworth.

Cody Card hit a two-run triple and Tucker Lewis two singles with two RBIs for the winers.

Andrew Giosia notched an RBI single for Bucksport while Billy Deredin and Justin Clapper each singled.

Bangor East wins title

At Millinocket, Bangor East captured the District 3 title with a 10-5 win over Hermon Sunday. Hermon beat Hampden-Newburgh 8-5 Saturday.

On Sunday, Justin Scripture knocked a two-run triple to spark the winners. Conor Griffin added three singles.

Kevin Frederick singled and tripled for Hermon.

On Saturday, Nick Moore racked up three singles to carry Hermon to the final.

Dean Watson tripled and singled and Tyler Fournier had two singles for Hermon. Frankie Chagnon added an RBI single.

Erik Lee had two singles and Jeddy Doyon a triple and single for Hampden-Newburgh.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor Saturday, Neal Russell pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and one walk to lead Bangor.

Russell also drove in three runs on two doubles and a single for Bangor, which scored nine runs on eight hits, one walk and two Hampden errors in the bottom of the first. Keith Clifford chipped in with three singles and three RBIs. Ben Estabrook had two RBIs and a single.

Jake Hitchings paced Hampden with a triple and Joel Neal had a double.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor Sunday, Jon Brothers hit two singles and knocked in three runs as Old Town eliminated Hampden.

Justin Morin, Nathan Emerson and David Chillelli each hit two singles and recorded an RBI for Old Town.

Jake Hitchings and Jon Ireland each hit two singles for Hampden.
