BUCKSPORT – The Brewer Falcons scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to rally for an 8-7 American Legion Zone 1 baseball victory over Trenton on Sunday.

J.T. Davis singled home the winning run with one out in the ninth. Andrew Patterson also had an RBI single during the rally, while Joe Robicheau, Nye Gifford and Kevin Kotredes each drew a bases-loaded walk.

Patterson finished with two doubles, a single and three RBIs. Pat Moran and Davis each added two singles and an RBI, while Robicheau had two RBIs.

Nick Ciomei led Trenton with a home run, a single and three RBIs. Corey Smith had three singles, Harrison Hines a double and a single, and Arshwin Asjes a double for the Acadians.

Orono 16, Hampden 15

At Old Town on Sunday, Adam Aucoin singled home Jacob Lukas in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Orono the victory.

A sacrifice fly by George Keefe in the bottom of the eighth had rallied the Twins to a 15-15 tie.

Dusty Thomas led Orono offensively with a double and two singles, while Cory Estes had three singles, Brad Goody doubled and singled and Lukas, Aucoin and Brian Roach singled twice each.

Estes, the fourth Orono pitcher, earned the win by allowing just one earned run over the final four innings.

Eric Libby had three singles and a double for Hampden, while Ian Lee hit a home run and a double, Kevin Brooks homered, and Chris Pease singled twice.

Bangor 7-7, Trenton 6-5

At Ellsworth on Saturday, Nate Hall’s eighth-inning sacrifice fly scored Nick Larochelle with the eventual game-winning run to lift Bangor to a 7-6 win in the first game of their doubleheader. The Comrades won the second game 7-5.

In the opener, Larochelle finished with two singles and Anthony DeRosa pitched a complete game for the winners.

Collin Henry, Harrison Hines and Blake Wessel each had two singles for the Acadians.

In the second game, P.J. Dowe hit a two-run single in the top of the eighth to give Bangor the winning edge.

Dowe added a double and a single while Brian Hackett had three doubles and DeRosa added two singles.

Arshwin Asjes had four singles for Trenton and Nick Ciomei added a double and single.

Penquis 11-7, Orono 3-6

At Old Town on Saturday, the Penquis Navigators scored two unearned runs in the top of the 11th inning of the second game to complete the doubleheader sweep.

Orono had forced extra innings when Joey Guerrette hit a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh to force a 4-4 tie. Each team scored once in the eighth, Penquis on a solo homer by Ethan Annis.

Annis also singled for the Navigators, while Mark Pullen doubled and singled, Jason Weymouth singled twice and Eric Day doubled.

Dusty Thomas led Orono with a home run and two singles. Guerrette and Ryan Levesque each doubled and single, while Brian Roach singled twice and Brad Goody doubled.

In the first game, James Gray pitched a complete-game five-hitter while Weymouth and Josh Pelletier each hit two-run homers during a five-run Penquis uprising in the top of the first.

Gray also doubled and singled while Day doubled twice, Chris Rabideau singled twice, and Sam Bowers doubled.

At Brewer on Saturday, left-hander Jim Nicknair pitched a four-hitter in the second game of a doubleheader as the Falcons earned the sweep.

Nicknair struck out five, walked three and hit two batters in a complete-game effort.

Pat Moran led Brewer’s 13-hit attack with a double and two singles. Zac Bouzan-Kaloustian added two doubles and three RBIs, while J.T. Davis and Andrew Otis each singled twice, with Otis scoring three runs.

Nick Arthers had two singles for Waldo, while Ryan Shute singled and walked twice.

In the first game, Davis had three singles and Joe Robicheeau singled twice and scored twice for the Falcons. Bouzan-Kaloustian added a two-run single, while Nye Gifford also singled home a run.

Arthers drove in two Waldo runs with a double and a sacrifice fly, while Mike Cummons singled, walked twice and scored four runs.

Hampden 5-13, Presque Isle 1-1

At Hampden on Saturday, Brian McGinley’s two-run pinch single sparked a four-run rally in the sixth inning that propelled the River Dogs to victory in the first game of a doubleheader.

Chris Morris added an RBI single during the rally, which broke a 1-1 tie.

Ian Lee added a double and single for Hampden.

Chris Pease earned the pitching win. He allowed just four singles while striking out five and walking one. Pete Gerard struck out 11 for Presque Isle,

In the second game, Hampden’s Bill Bart took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before Gerard hit a leadoff single. Bart finished with a two-hitter with eight strikeouts.

Jason Huntley led Hampden offensively with three singles and four RBIs, including a two-run single in the first inning and another two-run single in the third.

Blaine Meehan added a double and a single for Hampden, while Lee singled twice and Dan MacLean singled home two runs in the sixth.
