PRESQUE ISLE – The Calais Suns clinched an American Legion Zone 1 playoff berth with a 12-11, 10-7 doubleheader sweep of Presque Isle on Thursday.
In the first game, James Ramsdell drove in six runs with two home runs and a single to. Steve Colbeth also hit a home run. Aaron Sullivan singled three times and Corey Colbeth singled twice for the Suns
Andrew Young had a home run for Presque Isle. Chris Parsons doubled and singled with three RBIs for Patriots.
In the second game, Derek Maloney rapped two doubles and a single while Russ McLean, Scott Macdonald and Sullivan had two singles apiece.
Chad Lavway singled and tripled to bring in two runs for Presque Isle. Tim Lyford singled twice with three RBIs.

At Bangor’s Mansfield Stadium, Phil Cayford singled home Nick Larochelle with the go-ahead run in the sixth inning as the Comrades shaded the Lumber.
Matt Leino’s RBI single in the top of the fourth gave Lincoln a 1-0 lead, but Cayford singled home a run in the bottom of the inning to tie the game.
Bangor took the lead with a three-run rally in the sixth, with Cayford’s RBI hit followed by a pair of run-producing passed balls.
Tyler Thompson added a double for Lincoln.
Anthony DeRosa pitched a two-hitter for the Zone 1 North Division champions, striking out 10 and walking just two.

At Old Town, Pat Moran and Corey Cushing each hit a home run as Brewer clinched the Zone 1 South Division title.
Zac Bouzan-Kaloustian and Andy Otis had a single and a double apiece. Nye Gifford and Jeff Miller each added two singles, while Joe Robicheau doubled for the Falcons.
Dusty Thomas, Corey Grenier and Mike Tardiff each hit a two-run home run for Orono. Jacob Lukas singled and doubled. Cory Estes, Jarrett Lukas and George Keefe each contributed a double.

Will Rosenthal singled three times with three RBIs for Trenton. Collin Henry had two doubles and Mark Clapp had a single and a double. Corey Smith and Blake Wessel had two singled apiece.

Chris Pease earned the pitching win, striking out nine and walking no one in five innings of work.

At East Sullivan, Randy Renauld hit a solo homer, two singles and a sacrifice fly, totaling five RBIs, to lead Aerus Electrolux to victory.
Zach Reed hit a two-run double and Tom Caldwell posted a two-run single for the winners.
Mike Cowperthwaite had a sacrifice fly and single for Schoodic. Chuck Wingo doubled.
