CORINTH – A Charleston man was hospitalized on Thursday night after he crashed his speeding motorcycle on the Tate Road.

Seth Strout, 21, of Charleston was traveling at least 75 mph, 30 mph faster than the posted speed limit, when he passed a Penobscot County sheriff’s deputy on the Meadow Road at 7:51 p.m., according to police.

The deputy turned around to follow Strout, who then lost control of his 1995 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle as he attempted to turn onto the Tate Road.

Strout was treated at Eastern Maine Medical Center on Thursday night and then released, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Strout, who has owned the motorcycle for a week, was charged with criminal speeding and eluding police.
