BROCKTON, Mass. – The Bangor Lumberjacks piled up seven runs over the first three innings Friday night on their way to an 8-1 Northeast League baseball victory over Brockton.
The Jacks (29-22 overall, 4-1 in the second half) scored twice in the first, three times in the second and twice more in the third.
Jose Garcia led off the game with a homer, his first, and was one of five Bangor players to record at least two hits. Kazuhiro Kohno homered with one on in the third and also added a single.
Adam Thomas went the first seven innings for Bangor, allowing two hits and striking out four. Brad Hargreaves doubled and singled (2 RBIs) for the Jacks.
Mike Torres hit a solo homer for Brockton, which got three singles from Jake Daubert.
