Brewer man arrested for drunken driving

Brewer police arrested a man for drunken driving Monday on Parkway South.

Officer Tony Pinnette and Sgt. Chris Martin stopped a pickup truck with an obscured license plate at 5:50 p.m. The driver was Michael McDonald, 38, of Brewer.

The officers found alcohol in the truck, including an open container. McDonald performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken to the Police Department for a Breathalyzer test.

McDonald was arrested for operating under the influence and operating with an expired license, and was taken to Penobscot County Jail.

A U.S. flag was stolen from outside Gilman Electric Supply on Perry Road in Bangor this weekend.

A Brewer woman reported the flag, which had been on a pole, lost at 11:58 a.m. Monday, according to a report by Bangor police Officer Dennis Lally. She said it had been taken between 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday.

Police have no leads.
