PRESQUE ISLE – City police are looking for public assistance in their investigation of two burglaries at a school and industrial site on Monday and Tuesday.

Sgt. William Campbell said Wednesday that the Booster Club Building at the Skyway Middle School was broken into sometime during Sunday night, and that tires were punctured and gas tanks were salted at the Lane Construction Co. site.

The school burglary was discovered by workers at 6:45 a.m. Monday. A door was broken to gain entrance into the Skyway Street building and food items were stolen.

At the Reach Road Lane site, workers discovered Tuesday at about 6 a.m. that 50 tires on various pieces of equipment had been punctured. They also found that several fuel tanks had some substance added to them.

Police had no estimate of damage at either site.

Campbell said police are looking for public assistance from anyone riding or walking in the areas on Sunday and Monday nights.

The investigations were continuing Wednesday afternoon.
