FORT KENT – Lucas Levesque, the University of Maine-Fort Kent women’s basketball coach, will also serve as the head coach of the school’s women’s soccer team this fall, the school announced Wednesday.

“I’m extremely excited about this opportunity to continue the growth of this program. I expect us to have an excellent season with a great mix of newcomers and veterans,” said Levesque, a 1997 graduate of Fort Kent Community High School.

Levesque is a 2002 graduate of Thomas College in Waterville where he earned first-team honors three seasons in the Maine Athletic Conference in men’s soccer. Before Thomas, he also played soccer and basketball at UMFK in 1997.

Levesque was an assistant men’s soccer coach at UMFK last season.
