GARDINER – Maine-ly Harmony, a women’s barbershop chorus, recently held an election and installation of officers.

New officers are Geraldine Dostie of Augusta, president; Jan Flowers of Winterport, vice president; Marilyn Snipe of Waterville, secretary; and Barbara Jamison of West Gardiner, treasurer.

At-large members of the board include Sue Staples of Bangor and Anne Danforth of Chelsea.

The chorus members recently performed at St. Augustine’s Church in Augusta and at the State House, where they sang the national anthem in the House of Representatives.

In April, they competed in Montreal against barbershop groups from Canada and the northeastern states of America.

The group meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at River View Elementary School in Gardiner. Members carpool from Palermo, Vassalboro, Bangor, Winterport, Standish, Dixmont, Sabattus, Auburn, Levant, Waterville, Jefferson, Fairfield, Whitefield, Augusta, Hallowell, Chelsea and Gardiner.

Women and girls are invited to attend rehearsals to listen or to join the singing. Call Donna Ryder at 582-5523 for more information.
