COLUMBIA, S.C. – Three Maine privates graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson.

They are Pfc. Joel Clark of Bangor, son of Lisa Weaver of Bangor and a 2003 graduate of Bangor High School; Pvt. Sharon R. Herrick of Guilford, daughter of Gloria and Paul Herrick of Guilford and a 2002 graduate of Piscataquis Community High School, Guilford; and Pvt. John A. Parent of Hinckley, son of Joe and Karen Corvino of Hinckley and a graduate of Averill High School, Hinckley.
