LYNN, Mass. – Aaron Dean scattered six hits and two runs over eight innings Monday night to lead the North Shore Spirit to a 4-2 victory over the Bangor Lumberjacks in Northeast League action at New Fraser Field.

Dean struck out two and walked two before Ryan Bicondoa pitched a scoreless ninth.

Bangor (11-4 in the second half) remains tied with Quebec for the North Division lead. North Shore (10-4) is a half-game back.

Brian Macchi paced North Shore with two singles and two RBIs, while Rob Fischer singled twice.

Jose Garcia led the Lumberjacks with two singles. He singled, stole second and scored on Kazuhiro Kohno’s sacrifice fly in the first inning. In the second, Mark Burke doubled and rode home on Rolando Bello’s sacrifice fly.

Adam Thomas went the distance for Bangor, scattering nine hits and four runs while striking out 10.
