CUMBERLAND – Jesse Speirs of Bangor defeated Michael Hersey 4 and 3 in the final round of the Maine Junior Amateur Championship Thursday, lifting Speirs to his third straight win in the event.

The last player to win more than two championships was Dick Diversi in 1950.

Chris Tucker of Bath won the ages 13-14 division, beating Ben Medina of Rockland 2 and 1. In the 12-and-under division, Zack Sweet of Madison beat Nick Finocchairo of Portland 8 and 6. Shannon Mitchell defended her title in the girls division, defeating Bucksport’s Whitney Hand 3 and 2.
