Woman charged with forging prescriptions

An Old Town woman was arrested Thursday for forging fake prescriptions at the Hannaford Pharmacy on Stillwater Avenue.

Jeanine Martinez, 20, allegedly stole a prescription notepad from Health Works Occupational and Sports Medicine in Bangor and wrote a prescription Tuesday for the painkiller hydrocodone, according to Old Town Sgt. Mike Hashey.

Martinez attempted to get a prescription filled again on Thursday, Hashey said, but a pharmacist caught on and called the Old Town Police Department.

Martinez was arrested for acquiring drugs deceptively, a felony, and criminal attempt and forgery, both Class D misdemeanors. She was taken to Penobscot County Jail.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s department charged a Passadumkeag man with drug possession and cultivation during a search of his apartment Thursday morning.

Based on a weeklong investigation into illegal drug activity occurring at an apartment in Passadumkeag, the Sheriff’s Department conducted a search warrant at the residence, according to Detective Bill Flagg.

Robert L. Taylor, 46, was charged with marijuana cultivation, possession of a usable amount of marijuana and possession of a Schedule W drug, methadone.

Taylor was summoned to appear in Lincoln District Court.

The Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Maine State Trooper Barry Meserve and his K-9 Semper.

A Union man was charged with OUI early Friday in Bangor.

Officer Steve Jordan of the Bangor Police Department was driving South on Harlow Street when he saw a Dodge van make a right turn out of the parking lot across the street from the Schoolhouse Apartments. According to reports, the van drifted into the oncoming lane while turning, forcing Jordan to slow to a stop to avoid a collision.

Jordan turned around and followed the van as it turned right onto Cumberland Street. He then turned on his lights in an effort to pull the van over. The van did not immediately pull over, according to Jordan. Jordan followed the van as it pulled into the parking lot behind Bangor Floral.

Reports said that the driver of the van exited the vehicle while Jordan was approaching it. Jordan asked the man for his driver’s license, which he produced after fumbling with his wallet for a time. Kellen Farrow-Wright, 23, told Jordan he had consumed two beers earlier in the night. Jordan conducted a sobriety test on Farrow-Wright, which he allegedly failed.

Jordan charged Farrow-Wright with OUI and took him to Penobscot County Jail after his blood alcohol content was found to be .18 percent. Officer Robert Angelo waited with the van and the other male passenger until the vehicle was towed.
