OXFORD – The 2005 Banknorth 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway has again been scheduled during an off-weekend for the Nextel Cup series. The race will be held on July 31, landing it between races at Pocono (Pa.) and Indianapolis.
The Banknorth 250 was held on an off-weekend last month and Nextel Cup stars Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch participated. Kenseth started 41st and finished third and Busch started 35th and wound up 13th in the sold-out race.
“We are excited about the timing of the 2005 edition of the Banknorth 250,” said OPS owner Bill Ryan Jr. “This will give Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch and our other friends in Nextel Cup the chance to compete in the Banknorth 250.”
Turner’s Ben Rowe will be looking for his third straight win.
