PRESQUE ISLE – Police are seeking leads in their investigation of a burglary that occurred early Monday morning at a local antiques store.

Officers responded at about 3:40 a.m. to an alarm at The Country Store Antiques on 769 Main St. in Presque Isle, according to Sergeant Eric Erickson of the Presque Isle Police Department.

Officers Bert Quirino and Lynn Hartley discovered a screen had been ripped out of a window on the south end of the building and was left lying on the building’s handicap ramp. An unknown person or persons also had pried off a doorknob at the building’s south entrance and attempted to pry off a deadbolt on the door, Erickson said Monday.

Police did not know by Monday afternoon if anything was taken from the store. They are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the department at 764-4476.
