SALISBURY COVE – The Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory, in collaboration with The Jackson Laboratory, is hosting the third annual MDI Stem Cell Symposium Aug. 13-15.

The national scientific conference will bring together established researchers and students to discuss current technology and resources available for stem cell biologists.

The symposium is aimed at promoting the exchange of new ideas in the field of stem cell research. This year’s program will feature speakers with expertise in fish models as well as mammalian models.

A panel discussion will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14 to discuss implications of stem cell research and human health.

That session is open to the public.
