ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Bangor Lumberjacks scored five runs in the fourth inning en route to a 9-3 Northeast League baseball win over the Elmira Pioneers Tuesday night.
The Pioneers picked up a pair of runs in the first inning, but Bangor responded in the third on an RBI double by Brad Hargreaves.
Paul Powell and Rolando Bello sparked the Lumberjacks in the fourth inning as each slammed a two-run double. Hargreaves chipped in with an RBI single.
Bangor added another run in the fifth on a solo homer by Jose Garcia, and then scored two more in the sixth on a wild pitch by Ryan Cosentino and Kazuhiro Kohno’s RBI single.
The two teams battle again tonight at 7.
