WASHBURN – Isaac Carney converted two penalty kicks to lead the Washburn boys soccer team to a 4-1 victory over Central Aroostook on Saturday in high school action.
Ethan Doody and Zach Bird added a goal each for the 3-0 Beavers. Jason Thompson had 10 saves on 11 shots.
Jake Delano scored for the 2-1 Panthers of Mars Hill. John Boyd stopped 14 of 26 shots.
Easton 4, Wisdom 3
At St. Agatha, Evan Hopkins netted two goals as the Bears edged the Pioneers.
Jared Flewelling and Brandon Carlow added goals for Easton. Jeremy Brack had 17 saves on 28 shots.
Adam Ouellette, Justin Paradis and Randy Thibeault scored a goal apiece for Wisdom. Brent Michaud stopped 27 out of 33 shots.
Girls soccer
Washburn 3, CAHS 1
At Washburn, Erica McDougall assisted on goals by Heidi Bois and Stephanie Burtt to power the Beavers to victory.
Kristen Goupille added an unassisted goal for 3-0 Washburn. Amber Palmer rejected five of eight shots.
Tori Bradbury scored unassisted for 1-2 Central Aroostook of Mars Hill. Rachel Graves made six saves on 14 shots.
Wisdom 3, Easton 0
At St. Agatha, Kayla Daigle made 10 saves on 15 shots to earn the shutout for the Pioneers.
Kristin Marquis knocked in two goals for 1-2 Wisdom. Heidi DePrey added a goal while Robin Willette and Nicole St. Pierre each notch an assist.
Brianna White stopped 16 out of 30 shots for the 0-3 Bears.
