WATERVILLE – Police have officially listed as a missing person a 54-year-old Waterville man who disappeared more than six months ago and hasn’t been heard from since.
Police said Steven C. Brandon last was seen on Feb. 16, when he apparently left without his car, without his cell phone and without saying anything to his girlfriend or his family. Brandon had worked for Maingas for 15 years and was building a new house with his girlfriend in Thorndike.
Waterville police Detective John Weeks said there is no trace of Brandon, and no sign of foul play. He said Brandon was formally listed as a missing person so his name will turn up on a computer check if he is stopped by police.
“The only thing he took, that we were aware of, was the clothes on his back and his wallet – he’s disappeared,” Weeks said.
Brandon’s mother, Ann Brandon of Cherryfield, said her son was distraught over an argument with his girlfriend the day before his disappearance, but that they apparently had made up.
