PARKMAN – Two local people were arrested Tuesday after police searched their Wellington Road home and found 110 marijuana plants and assorted paraphernalia.
Denise Knowlton and Scott Knowlton, both reported to be 41, were charged with felony marijuana cultivation.
They were taken to Piscataquis County Jail in Dover-Foxcroft, where Denise Knowlton was released on personal recognizance bail. Scott Knowlton made his $100 bail and also was released.
Their initial court appearances are set for Oct. 25 in Dover-Foxcroft District Court.
Acting on a tip, the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at Denise Knowlton’s home at noon on Tuesday, according to Investigator Guy Dow.
He said 110 marijuana plants were found growing on the property. An additional 43 plants were found growing in the back of a neighbor’s pasture. Dow said the neighbor had been unaware that the plants were on his property.
Police also discovered a grow room inside the house, as well as marijuana seeds and pipes, Dow said. He said the couple are divorced but still live together.
