BANGOR – Maine Public Radio will broadcast live coverage of the 66th National Folk Festival on Saturday and Sunday from the riverfront in downtown Bangor.

Beginning at noon, Maine Public Radio will broadcast the entertainment from the Railroad Stage that includes a full roster of musical acts. Coverage is expected to conclude in the early evening.

In addition to the music, Maine Public Radio reporters will be at the festival interviewing performers and reporting on various activities. MPR staff and volunteers will be on hand at the organization’s remote truck near the Railroad Stage to answer questions and distribute radio schedules.

Maine Public Radio will feature music by festival performers during its regular programming in the days preceding the show.

The entertainment on the Railroad Stage will include gospel guitar, Eastern European music, Congolese-Cuban music, Louisiana Creole and zydeco, bluegrass, Texas fiddling, Irish and Acadian music, and more.
