BANGOR – The Bangor Area Breakfast Rotary Club recently presented a check for $500 to Colby Civiello to help support his volunteer work at St. John’s Episcopal Church that resulted in construction of a bathroom and a remodeled conference room.

Civiello, who is a sophomore at Bangor High School and an Eagle Scout with Troop 8 of the Katahdin Area Council of Boy Scouts, supervised a team of 19 volunteers who have worked more than 320 hours to create a conference and meeting room out of a storage-loose ends repository.

What started as a bathroom and walk-in closet building project ended up remodeling a conference room that will be used by staff, church members and some of Bangor’s outreach organizations. Civiello’s team created better access to a lavatory and much-needed closet.

Other assistance came from the Home Depot, Bangor Hardware, H.E. Sargent and Ames A/E.
