BANGOR – White powder discovered Thursday inside a card sent to a Bangor bank turned out to be harmless, according to police.
The substance inside the card, sent to Merrill Merchants Bank on Stillwater Avenue, was tested Thursday and determined to be crushed paper. Mailed by a business called Baltimore Research out of Maryland, the printed card read roughly, “Happy Labor Day, capitalists,” according to police.
The card paper may have been old and deteriorated into powder, police said. The case is no longer under investigation.
