Hamel a proven leader

As a teacher at Old Town High School and a military veteran, I would like to express my support of Brian Hamel, District 2 congressional candidate. I have met Hamel and his family on several occasions as they traveled around the state. He is a successful businessman and family man who has a clear vision for Maine’s future.

Hamel cares deeply about bringing jobs to Maine so our children don’t have to leave Maine to earn a living wage and enjoy the benefits of raising their kids here as well. This is not just political talk; he has already made this happen by creating 1,200 jobs after 1,100 were lost due to the closing of Loring Air Force Base in Limestone.

Hamel knows that education is the base from which the American dream springs forth. He knows this because of his time spent as chairman of Maine’s Community College System, a system which offers high-quality education at an affordable cost. His efforts give workers the educational edge to remain competitive in a global market economy.

Hamel supports expanding the transportation network in Maine, particularly the establishment of an east-west highway; so that goods and services can more easily be moved inside the state and to allow for our goods to travel more efficiently to outside markets as well. Hamel supports balance in environmental policies, and seeks to balance the protection of natural resources with sound economic development. He is a proven leader and has earned our vote in November.
