FORT KENT -The University of Maine at Fort Kent will indulge in a bit of fortune-telling Sept. 18 when it honors Megan Foreman of Fort Kent with the “Outstanding Future Alumni” award at the annual Alumni and Friends Banquet.

Foreman, who will graduate next May with a bachelor’s degree in business management, seems like a safe bet to receive this award that recognizes exemplary service to the campus community and future potential.

She has had a distinguished campus career, serving as senator at large and president of the Student Senate, volunteering and coaching area youth in soccer and basketball, and earning many honors for her soccer prowess.

Among her 2003 accolades, Foreman won national soccer player of the week honors by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and was named to the Sunrise Conference first team. At UMFK, she holds the record for number of assists in women’s soccer and is second in overall points.

Her parents are UMFK graduates James and Rilda Foreman of Fort Kent.

UMFK alumni and the public are invited to attend the $15 banquet where Foreman, Outstanding Alumni award recipient Patricia Dow and Outstanding Young Alumni award recipient Troy Jackson will be honored.
