Burglary charge filed against woman

TOWNSHIP 2 RANGE 9 – A Millinocket woman has been charged with burglary of a motor vehicle and aggravated criminal mischief in connection with an incident that occurred late last month at Little Omaha Beach.

Cindy Gray, 47, allegedly pried open a window of a 2003 GMC truck that was parked at the beach, removing articles from inside the vehicle, according to Investigator Jamie Kane of the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department.

An 11-year-old Millinocket juvenile also was implicated in the crime and has been turned over to juvenile corrections officials, the officer said.

Kane said the vehicle’s owner encountered a group of children when he returned to his vehicle. The children ran off and left the area in a vehicle parked nearby. The Greenville man took the license plate numbers and notified police.

Taken from the vehicle were fishing poles and alcohol, Kane said. He estimated damage to the window, which also had a broken lock, at $2,000.

Gray is expected to make her initial court appearance on the charges on Oct. 25 in 13th District Court in Dover-Foxcroft.
