GOULDSBORO – Police are investigating two reported sightings in the Bangor area of a missing Nova Scotia woman.

Charlotte McGill, 50, last was seen Tuesday in the Gouldsboro village of Corea in a black and silver sport utility vehicle, according to Gouldsboro Police Chief Guy Wycoff. McGill, of Riverport, Nova Scotia, is renting a home in Corea with her husband, the chief said.

Wycoff said Thursday that he has received reports of the vehicle, a 1993 GMC Suburban with Nova Scotia vanity plates that read “bourbon,” being seen around noon Wednesday on Route 9 in Beddington and around 5 p.m. Wednesday in Bangor. McGill left Corea at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday for a 10 a.m. doctor’s appointment in Bangor but never made it to the appointment, the chief has said.

“That’s really an eye-catcher,” Wycoff said of the vehicle’s vanity plates. “Now we’re starting to get some response.”

McGill is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs about 140 pounds and has gray hair with black streaks, according to the chief.

Wycoff said he has contacted U.S. border officials in Calais and plans to contact law enforcement officials in Nova Scotia to alert them to McGill’s status. He said he cannot get a photo of the missing woman until the husband returns to Nova Scotia and sends him one.

Anyone with information about McGill or her vehicle can contact Wycoff during business hours at 963-5589 or can call Hancock County dispatchers at any time at 667-7575, he said.
