Peters, Flint, Nemer spark win

ASHLAND – Ashlee Peters and Whitney Flint combined for two goals while Ashley Nemer recorded her fourth straight shutout to pace the undefeated Ashland Hornets to a 2-0 schoolgirl soccer win over Central Aroostook Thursday.

Peters scored off a Flint assist 29:54 into the first half and Peters set up Flint’s goal nine minutes into the second half. Nemer finished with five saves on six shots for 5-0 Ashland.

Rachel Graves made 10 saves on 13 shots for 1-6-1 Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

Houlton 5, Hodgdon 4

At Hodgdon, Danielle Sewell and Kendall Fitzpatrick each scored two goals as the visiting Shiretowners earned the win.

Mallory McPartland added a goal for 2-2-2 Houlton, while Nicole Manton made 11 saves on 16 shots.

Brianne McGary led 3-4 Hodgdon with two goals, while Collette Sloat and Andrea Blanchette each scored a goal. Heather London made 15 saves on 22 shots.

Limestone 5, Wisdom 1

At Limestone, Ellie Dunn scored a pair of goals and assisted on another as Limestone improved to 5-1-1.

The game was called at halftime due to wet field conditions.

Logan Cousins, Crystal Silva and Lindsey Beaulieu had the other goals for Limestone and Melanie Allen made two saves on four shots.

Nicole St. Pierre scored for 3-7 Wisdom of St. Agatha and Kayla Daigle made six saves on 12 shots.

Boys soccer

Central Aroostook 5, Ashland 0

At Ashland, Jake Delano scored twice as the Panthers rolled to the win.

Ryan Kilcollins, Sam Clockedile and Brock Burtt each chipped in with a goal. Kyle Taylor stopped nine of 14 shots for Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

Kevin Baker made 20 saves on 25 shots for the 1-3-1 Hornets.

Houlton 7, Hodgdon 0

At Hodgdon, Ian Pasquarelli and Ryan Brewer both scored two goals and had two assists to lift Houlton past Hodgdon.

Pheron Larkins, Chris Howland, and Sam Tweedie each netted a goal for 1-3-1 Houlton. Eben Thompson stopped all four shots that he saw.

Jordan Quint made 15 saves on 22 shots for 0-7 Hodgdon.

Limestone 0, Wisdom 0

At Limestone, Chad Sirois made 11 saves on 16 shots as 0-8-1 Wisdom of St. Agatha tied Limestone in a game halted at halftime due to wet field conditions.

Hector Robles made two saves on six shots for 2-4-1 Limestone.

Central 3, Penobscot Valley 2

At Howland Wednesday, Central of Corinth received goals from Joey and Danny Kane along with Chris Wiers to improve to 2-0.

Charles Haney had 20 saves on 22 shots.

Matt Cummings and Jonas Traphoner each scored for 1-1-1 Penobscot Valley. Josh Ireland stopped 18 of 22 shots.
