Alexander sparks Easton win

EASTON – Nina Alexander racked up five goals to power the Easton Bears to a 6-1 schoolgirl soccer win over the East Grand Vikings Friday.

Easton’s Kassie Lovely chipped in with a goal and Kari Beckom had an assist. Briana White stopped four of eight shots in her team’s first win.

Sarah Rodier knocked in a goal for the Vikings of Danforth and Paula Osnoe made 12 saves on 27 shots.

Greenville 6, Shead 0

At Greenville, Crystal Ferris scored three times to lift Greenville past Shead of Eastport.

Hannah Breton netted two goals for 3-1 Greenville and Rebecca Martel added a goal. Rica Breton, Kahla Lander, and Tuli Palacios each had an assist. Beth Bartley blocked three of four shots.

Brittany Cox made 24 saves on 34 shots for 1-1 Shead.

Fort Fairfield 5, Washburn 2

At Fort Fairfield, Kerri Cunningham netted two goals to lead Fort Fairfield to the win.

Sadie Ayood, Shannon Towel, and Brittany McLaughlin each scored a goal for the 5-2-1 Tigers. Keegan O’Neal made four saves on six shots.

Erica McDougall and Kristen Goupille both netted a goal for 5-5 Washburn. Amber Palmer stopped 10 of 15 shots.

Narraguagus 2, Sumner 0

At Harrington, Hailey Torrey broke a scoreless tie with 18 minutes left and added an insurance goal 15 minutes later.

Alicia Tenney made 12 saves on 14 shots for 1-1 Narraguagus while Kylie Bragdon made 24 saves on 29 shots for 0-2 Sumner of East Sullivan.

Bucksport 3, Ellsworth 0

At Ellsworth, Lindsey Gordon netted two goals to life Bucksport to the win.

Meg Lalonde added a goal and two assists for 3-0 Bucksport and Emily Pappas had an assist. Katie Hurd made three saves on six shots.

Catie Cravens stopped seven on 10 shots for 1-2 Ellsworth.

Maranacook 12, Mount View 0

At Maranacook, Allison Meyer and Toby Martin both scored three times to lead Maranacook to the win.

Ali Trafton netted two goals for 3-0 Maranacook as Emma Prysunka, Kelly Neptune, Danielle Poulin, and Melissa Piper each had a goal. Amy Cloutier made no saves on two shots.

Melanie Miville made 10 saves on 23 shots for 1-2 Mount View of Thorndike.

Boys soccer

Easton 3, East Grand 0

At Easton, Matt Steele, Jared Flewelling and George Ferris each scored a goal in the win.

Chris Dayringer notched an assist for the 4-6 winners and Jeremy Brock made 20 saves on 22 shots.

For 0-2 East Grand of Danforth, Zac Faulkner made 17 saves on 45 shots.

Schenck 3, Katahdin 0

At East Millinocket, Kerry Thompson scored two goals and assisted on the other as Schenck improved to 2-0-1.

Aaron Waite scored the other goal and Lanny Thompson made eight saves on 13 shots.

Brayall Breton made 19 saves on 30 shots for 2-1-1 Katahdin of Stacyville.

Washburn 3, Ft. Fairfield 2 (OT)

At Fort Fairfield, Isaac Carney scored the game-winning goal at 4:36 into overtime to lead Washburn past Fort Fairfield.

Zach Bird tied the game at 31:24 into the second half for the 7-1-1 Beavers and Carney had the first goal at 26:26 into the first. Jason Thompson stopped one of six shots.

Jessie Sayers netted a penalty kick in the first half for the 1-6 Tigers and Brock Kilcollins added a goal in the second half at 27:37. Billy Scull made 16 saves on 25 shots.

Searsport 5, Sumner 1

At East Sullivan, Matt Nickerson netted three goals to push Searsport past Sumner.

Randolph Santos scored a goal and assisted another for 1-1 Searsport. Ryan Shute had a goal and Ryan Hast had an assist. Garrett Greenlaw made eight saves on 10 shots.

Derek Crocker scored on a Jeff Burditt assist in the first half for 0-3 Sumner. Mason Young and Burditt combined to stop 25 of 35 shots.

Machias 7, Narraguagus 0

At Machias, Jamie McCarthy had two goals and an assist while Zac McNally scored two goals of his own to pace Machias past Narraguagus of Harrington.

Michael Little, Thomas Buck, and Chase Ross each scored a goal for the 2-0 Bulldogs. Marcus Frutchey made five saves on seven shots.

Josh Look made eight saves on 17 shots for the 1-1 Knights.

Camden Hills 3, MCI 0

At Rockport, Trevey Davis and Corey McLean each scored one goal and assisted on another to lead the Windjammers past Maine Central Institute.

Noah Burke scored the other goal for the 3-0 ‘Jammers. Morgan Kerr and Andrew Rogers combined for six saves on seven shots.

Tristan Goewey made seven saves on 13 shots for the 1-2 Huskies of Pittsfield.

Shead 3, Greenville 2

At Eastport, Aaron Sullivan scored three goals, two on assists from Cody Bulmer, as Shead edged Greenville.

Jonah Lizotte and Joe Jardine scored goals for Greenville, with Kyle Whitman earning an assist.

Dana Mitchell made six saves on 11 shots for 2-0 Shead. Brandon Lavigne made one save on seven shots for 2-1 Greenville.

Maranacook 2, Mt. View 1 (OT)

At Thorndike, Billy Ervin scored the game-winning goal at 2:30 into overtime to lift Maranacook of Readfield to the victory.

Dustin Ouellette tied the game with 18 minutes left for 2-0-1 Maranacook and Tom Martinelli stopped six of 10 shots.

John Wentworth scored on a Teddy Mattson assist at 13:51 into the first half for 2-1 Mount View. Ross Caron made 14 saves on 37 shots.

JV: Maranacook 5-1

Foxcroft Academy 3, Dexter 1

At Dexter, Sheng-Wie Hu-Chai scored the first goal of the second half to give Foxcroft Academy the win.

Mitch Sawyer and Derek Smith each scored a goal for 1-1 Foxcroft and James Tirrell stopped 14 of 21 shots.

Aaron Woodman netted a first-half goal for 1-2 Dexter and Sam Bowers made 19 saves on 25 shots.

Central 1, Hermon 0

At Corinth, Josh Underhill scored the winning goal on a header from Danny Kane with 29:59 left for Central.

Charles Haney made 18 saves on 30 shots for 3-0 Central.

Corey Stanhope saved 16 of 20 shots for 2-2 Hermon.

Penquis 2, Penobscot Valley 1

At Milo, Nathan Allen scored on a Ryan Andrews assist with 20 minutes left in the second half to lead Penquis to the win.

Jordan Allen added a goal off of a Adam Ballush assist with 13 minutes left for 1-1 Penquis. Drew Hamlin blocked 14 of 19 shots.

Andrew Hallett scored with a 1:09 left for 0-2-1 Penobscot Valley of Howland. Josh Ireland made nine saves on 13 shots.

Brewer 2, Nokomis 0

At Brewer, Andrew Richardson scored at the 20- minute mark in the first off of a Marc Relford assist to help Brewer beat Nokomis of Newport.

Shunsuke Sasaki scored on a Richardson assist with 51 seconds left in the first half for 1-2 Brewer and Ben Davis made five saves on five shots.

Brendan Donaldson made 10 saves on 12 shots for 0-3 Nokomis.

JV: Nokomis 1-0

GSA 6, Bucksport 0

At Blue Hill, Colin Tareila scored three goals to lead George Stevens Academy to the win.

Sam Michie, Tyler Cousins, and Phineau Peake each scored a goal for the 3-0 Eagles and Blake Wessel had an assist. Goalies Mark Ensworth and Collin Henry combined to face three shots but didn’t have to make a save.

Miles Bisher didn’t have a save on 15 shots for 0-2 Bucksport.

Field hockey

Belfast 6, MCI 0

At Belfast, Jill Ross scored two goals and Britt Cummings had two assists as the host Lions remained unbeaten.

Kelsey Jackson, Britt Reed, Jamie Flagg and Brooke Reed each added a goal for 3-0 Belfast, while Kallie Aldus chipped in with an assist.

Liz Anderson stopped all four shots she faced for Belfast. MCI’s Courtney Howe made 13 saves on 19 stops.

JV: Belfast 1-0

Piscataquis 3, Central 0

At Corinth, Kristi Levesque scored two goals to lead the Piscataquis Pirates of Guilford to the win over Central.

Hattie Agnew scored the other goal for the 2-0 Pirates and Amy Knowlton notched the shutout by saving all three shots she faced.

Kara Voisine made 15 saves on 21 shots for the 0-2-1 Red Devils of Corinth.

JV: Piscataquis 1-0

Foxcroft Academy 4, Hampden 1

At Dover-Foxcroft, Tamblyn Frederick scored three goals and assisted on one in leading the Ponies by Hampden.

Amy Molinaro had a goal and an assist for the 2-1 Ponies. Ashley Smith made four saves on five shots.

Gretchen Lescord scored the goal for 2-1 Hampden and Caroline Samp made 13 saves on 17 shots.

JV: Hampden 1-0
