Belfast blanks Waterville 2-0

WATERVILLE – Britt Cummings and Kelsey Jackson each scored a second-half goal to lead the undefeated Belfast Lions to a 2-0 high school field hockey victory over the Waterville Panthers Monday.

Kallie Aldus assisted on Jackson’s goal for 4-0 Belfast. Liz Anderson turned aside all five shots she saw.

Ashley Poulin made five saves on seven shots for the 2-2 Panthers.

JV: Belfast 1-0

Winslow 3, Camden Hills 2

At Rockport, Ali Kriegel’s unassisted goal with four seconds left in the first half propelled the visiting Black Raiders to the victory.

Lindsey Clement scored on a Jodi Newcombe assist to give Camden Hills a 1-0 lead, but Winslow’s Nicole Lombardi tied the game and Kriegel then gave the Winslow the lead for good.

Nikki Peters gave Winslow a 3-1 lead midway through the second half before Clement scored her second goal of the match with 4:39 to play.

Jen Bragg made four saves on six shots for 4-0 Winslow. Georgia Smith made five saves on eight shots for 1-3 Camden Hills.

JV: Camden Hills 2-0

Girls soccer

Madawaska 5, Calais 0

At Madawaska, Beth Gerard notched two goals to lead the Owls to the win.

Ashley Cyr tallied a goal plus two assists for the 4-3-1 winners. Kelly Chasse and Jamie Nadeau added a goal each. Liz LaPlante had one save on five shots.

Stephanie Perry stopped 22 of 33 shots for the 0-1 Blue Devils.

Searsport 4, George Stevens 2

At Searsport, Teresa Cameron and Nori Francis-Metzger each scored two goals as the Vikings edged George Stevens of Blue Hill.

Kathleen Flannery, Aimee Neilsen and Abby Tripp each had an assist for Searsport.

Wendy Brokaw scored both GSA goals, one assisted by Christy Moon.

April Pickering made 10 saves on 14 shots for 2-0 Searsport. Kayla Eaton made eight saves on 15 shots for 2-1-1 George Stevens.

Belfast 2, MCI 0

At Belfast, Sam Mathieu and Katie Nickerson each scored unassisted as the Lions blanked the Huskies.

Bryna Harrington didn’t face a single shot for 4-0 Belfast. Kacey Dodge had 23 saves on 25 shots for 0-4 MCI of Pittsfield.

Erskine Acad. 6, Mount View 1

At Thorndike, Erin Corey’s two-goal effort paced the Black Raiders to victory.

Mariah Gleaton, Rachel Siegfriedt, Sasha Bender and Chelsea Colby scored one goal apiece for 3-1 Erskine Academy of South China. Shannon Proctor and Jade Glidden made six saves on seven shots.

Molly Hauser scored the goal for 1-3 Mount View. Melanie Miville made nine saves on 27 shots.

JV: Erskine 4-0

Lee 8, Woodland 0

At Lee, Shelby Pickering had two goals and an assist for the 3-0 Pandas.

Aarika Ritchie added a goal and two assists, while Kimmy Thurlow had one goal and one assist. Dana Houghton, Amanda Gifford, Jodi Worcester and Michaela Ham also scored goals for Lee, while Erica Hanscom had an assist.

Jackie Moors, Brooke Harris, Houghton and Pickering combined to save Woodland’s lone shot on goal.

Cynthia Bergin made 18 saves on 36 shots for 1-2 Woodland.

Dexter 4, Penquis 2

At Dexter, Jana Kenney scored a pair of goals and Sabrina Cote added a goal and an assist for the Tigers.

Tracy Mountain also scored for 1-2 Dexter, while Ashley Richardson made 18 saves on 30 shots.

Erin Beasley scored two goals for Penquis. Michelle Mulherin made seven saves on 11 shots.

Foxcroft 2, Nokomis 1

At Newport, Alicia Hassell scored an unassisted goal with 3:27 left in the second overtime to give the Ponies the victory.

Erica Kaufman put the Ponies on the scoreboard first with an unassisted goal with 5:23 left in the first half, but Nokomis’ Rozlyn Peterson tied it on a penalty kick with 24:44 left in regulation.

Ally Holmbom made 11 saves on 17 shots for 1-3 Foxcroft and Danielle White made 10 saves on 12 shots for 0-4 Nokomis.

Calvary Chapel 3, Narraguagus 0

At Brewer, Monique Veillieux, Chauntel Vellieux and Brittany Lowe each scored unassisted to lead the Sabers of Orrington to the win.

Jessica Graves stopped all three shots she faced for the 2-0 winners while Alicia Tenney had 25 saves on 28 shots for the 2-2 Knights of Harrington.

Camden Hills 5, Lincoln Acad. 0

At Camden, Caitlin Brown had three goals plus an assist as the Windjammers rolled.

Kayla Gushee and Tara Scott each had a goal with an assist for the hosts. Beth Heron didn’t face any shots.

Cassie Berry stopped 17 out of 29 shots for the Eagles of Newcastle.

JV: Camden Hills 5-0

Boys soccer

Woodland 5, Narraguagus 3

At Woodland, Ben Leighton scored three goals to lift the Dragons to the win.

Craig Moody and Cody Sappier had a goal apiece for the 1-1 winners. Donald Phelps had 11 saves on 14 shots.

Cory Worcester, Todd Daigle and Brandon Meserve each scored for the Harrington-based Knights. Josh Look stopped 16 out of 21 shots.

MCI 6, Belfast 0

At Pittsfield, Mark Trombley had two goals and an assist to lead the 2-2 Huskies.

Trevin Ming added a goal and an assist for MCI. Chan Soo Ha, Kyle Liimatainen and Mark Neace each scored a goal, while Chang Kim contributed an assist.

Triatan Goeway made two saves on four shots for MCI. Aaron Todd made 13 saves on 30 shots for 0-4 Belfast.

JV: MCI 6-0

Washington Academy 3, Calais 1

At Calais, goals by Drake Simmons, Minh Nguyen and Miguel Lopez helped Washington Academy of East Machias stop the Blue Devils.

Jeremy Gray had seven saves on eight shots for the Raiders.

Corey Johnson scored for the Blue Devils and Nick Provencher made seven saves on 10 shots.

Hampden 2, John Bapst 1 (2OT)

At Bangor, Andre Cushing scored unassisted in the second extra session to give the Broncos the win.

Martin Earley scored off a Sam Dow pass for 4-0 HA. Billy Shannon had four saves on five shots.

Nick Hubbard scored the 1-3 Crusaders’ goal. Chris Smith blocked 11 out of 13 shots.

JV: Hampden 9-1
