FREEPORT – L.L. Bean has announced it will open a temporary call center in the town of Oxford and employ up to 300 peak-season customer service representatives. The center will operate from Nov. 1 through Dec. 22 in a former call center building on Route 26 north of Oxford Plains Speedway. The new facility is a business response to increased call volumes expected during the outdoor retailer’s peak holiday season.
L.L. Bean has a long tradition of hiring additional Maine workers during its busiest season, when employee numbers more than double at the company.
Bean operates year-round facilities in Portland, Lewiston and Waterville.
