Fort Kent tips Van Buren

VAN BUREN – Kristen Labrie and Lindsay Cyr each scored an unassisted goal as Fort Kent edged Van Buren 2-1 in a schoolgirl soccer matchup Thursday.

Kelsey Bouchard made four saves on seven shots for 5-2-1 Fort Kent.

Megan Lajoie scored for 5-4-1 Van Buren. Lisa Levasseur stopped 14 of 21 shots.

Hodgdon 1, Fort Fairfield 0

At Hodgdon, Brianne McGary scored unassisted in the first half to lift the Hawks to victory.

Heather London stopped nine of 13 shots for 6-4 Hodgdon while Keegan O’Neal had 14 saves on 19 shots for the 6-3-1 Tigers.

Easton 1, CAHS Panthers 1 (OT)

At Easton, Nina Alexander’s unassisted goal with nine seconds left in the first half enabled Easton to earn the tie.

Tory Bradbury scored for Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

Briana White made 10 saves on 15 shots for 1-11-1 Easton while Rachel Graves stopped four of eight shots for 1-7-2 Central Aroostook.

Madawaska 3, Limestone 1

At Madawaska, Kelly Chase, Anna Cannan and Beth Gerard each tallied a goal as the Owls nipped the Eagles.

Ashley Cyr had two assists for 5-3-2 Madawaska. Liz LaPlante stopped seven of eight shots.

Crystal Silva scored off an assist from Lindsey Beaulieu for 4-5-1 Limestone. Melanie Allen had 22 saves on 31 shots.

WA Raiders 5, East Grand 1

At Danforth, Sarah Rushforth scored three goals for the Raiders of East Machias.

Angie Ashby and Meghan Rose added a goal apiece for 3-0 WA. Joy Grannis made five saves on six shots.

Ryann Flannery had the lone goal for the 0-3 Vikings. Paula Osnoe stopped 22 of 27 shots.

Searsport 3, Bangor Christian 1

At Bangor, Nori Francis-Metzger scored a pair of goals as the Vikings remained undefeated.

Haley Grove also scored for 4-0 Searsport, while April Pickering made 10 saves on 15 shots.

Amber Leathers scored for 2-2 Bangor Christian. Johannah Kutz made 14 saves on 17 shots for the Patriots.

Boys soccer

Cen. Aroostook 4, Easton 1

At Easton, Eric Smith scored two of his three goals in the first half as the Panthers of Mars Hill rolled.

Brock Burtt added the other goal for 8-2-1 CAHS. Jon Boyd had nine saves on 17 shots.

Matt Steele had the lone goal for the 4-5-1 Bears. Jeremy Brock stopped 25 out of 43 shots.

Madawska 5, Limestone/MSSM 0

At Madawaska, Myles Morneault scored two goals as the Owls blanked the Eagles.

Jordan Albert, Paul Roy and Billy Roy netted a goal apiece for 5-4-2 Madawaska. Paul Michaud stopped all four shots he faced.

Hector Robles blocked 18 out of 23 shots for 3-7-1 Limestone.

Ellsworth 4, George Stevens 1

At Ellsworth, Jensen Rich and Demetrios Katsiaficas each had a goal and an assist as the Eagles prevailed.

Jacques Tardie and Noah Jordan added goals and Taylor Wentworth an assist for 3-1 Ellsworth. Cory Smith had one save on five shots.

Sam Bridges scored for the 4-1 Eagles of Blue Hill. Mark Ensworth and Colin Henry stopped 12 of 21 shots.

JV: Ellsworth 4-1

Bucksport 2, Searsport 2 (2OT)

At Bucksport, Matt Nickerson scored a pair of second-half goals to rally Searsport from a 2-0 halftime deficit.

Ryan Shute assisted on one of Nickerson’s goals.

Caleb Grindle had a goal and an assist for 0-3-1 Bucksport, while freshman Alex Pappas also scored for the Golden Bucks.

Garrett Greenlaw made five saves on 11 shots for 1-2-2 Searsport. Miles Bisher made five saves on 10 shots for Bucksport.

Schenck 2, Dexter 1

At East Millinocket, Kerry Thompson scored a pair of goals as the Wolverines edged the Tigers.

Lanny Thompson stopped 12 of 14 shots for 3-1-1 Schenck.

Brandon Workman scored a goal for the 2-3 Tigers. Sam Bowers made seven saves on 13 shots.
