Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Maine will sponsor a daylong rally next Saturday at the Bangor Auditorium. Ralph Martin, host of the EWTN cable television program “The Choices We Face,” will be keynote speaker. Martin has been active in the Catholic charismatic movement since its beginnings in 1967 among students attending a retreat at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. The movement was inspired by the charism, or gifts, believers say were present in some of the early Christian communities and associated with the feast of Pentecost. These gifts are words of wisdom, words of knowledge, healing, prophecy, speaking in tongues and interpretations of such speech. A healing service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, following the rally. For information, call Donna Landry, 490-1050.
