A minister with Maine ties has published “Heaven by Surprise: Church Stories from the Diary of a Seasoned Pastor.” The book by the Rev. Robert M. Mitchell (photo) is a compilation of stories from his personal diary. Mitchell was associate minister at All Souls Congregational Church, Bangor, from 1966 to 1970. Before that he was student pastor of the Carmel Union Congregational Church and pastor of Second Congregational Church in South Brewer.
