A Milford man was hospitalized Friday morning after he crashed his car and fled from Old Town police.

Travis Brown, 21, hit a telephone pole on Main Street at 2:15 a.m., according to police. His car then struck a cement storm drain and flipped end-over-end several times.

Brown was seen walking through the nearby Forest Hill Cemetery immediately after the accident, and later fled from police into the woods. Brown was apprehended when he tripped and fell, and was discovered bleeding from the head with a large cut on his arm, according to police.

Brown was treated and then released from Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor on Friday. Charges are pending against the Milford man, as alcohol appears to be a factor in the accident, according to police.

A novice driver went off the road and crashed into a boat on a trailer Friday afternoon on Route 1A in Brewer.

The juvenile, who has her driver’s permit, pulled over at 1:15 p.m. because her mother was concerned she was too nervous to drive, according to reports. The girl then drove into a ditch and struck a boat parked in the driveway of a nearby home.

No one was seriously injured in the accident. Police could not provide damage estimates Friday night.

A Bangor man was summoned for assault Friday afternoon after he allegedly punched another man and made fun of his roommates.

A man at the Together Place on Union Street was showing Frederick Locke, 47, photographs when the alleged assault occurred, according to police reports. Locke said the people pictured in the photographs were “nitwits” and allegedly punched the other man in the head and threw him to the ground.

Locke was summoned for assault and issued a one-year criminal trespass warning not to return to the Together Place, according to reports.
