ROCKLAND – State police have determined that the Knox County deaths of Gordon Hall, 58, and Barbara Knudsen, 53, were not under suspicious circumstances.

Hall’s body was found floating in Megunticook Lake in Camden on Sept. 12. Knudsen’s body was found in her bathtub in Union on Tuesday. The man and woman were a couple, though Hall had been living in an assisted living center in Camden just before his death.

Both deaths are believed to have been suicides, and both are believed to have drowned.

The state medical examiner’s office is conducting further tests.

State police spokesman Stephen McCausland said Friday that a state investigator has been assigned to the case to assist the Camden Police Department and the Knox County Sheriff’s Department.

“There was no foul play involved,” McCausland said.
