CARIBOU – The Parks and Recreation Department will host a bowhunter safety course from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, at the Army National Guard building on York Street. Topics covered include proper use of archery equipment, range estimation, camouflage, tree stand safety, sport of bowhunting, landowner relations, and hunter ethics and responsibilities.
The course is co-sponsored by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, and is offered to anyone age 10 and up.
Participants 10 to 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult, and there is a $3 fee. Call 493-4224 for information or to register.
