BREWER – Dylan George’s second goal of the game off a Dan Malmer assist – with 33:55 left to play – proved to be the game-winner as the Bangor Rams edged Brewer 3-2 in boys soccer action Monday.

Caique Lopes scored the other goal on an Adam Towne assist for 5-1 Bangor. Austin Smith made five saves on seven shots.

Jeromy Proulx and Andrew Richardson each scored a goal on assists by Eric Whitney and Prentiss Scott. Ben Davis saved seven of 10 shots for 2-4 Brewer.

JV: Bangor 6-0

Lee 2, Schenck 0

At East Millinocket, Jake King and Drew Pickering each scored unassisted goals for the Pandas in the win.

Chris King had seven saves on nine shots for 5-1 Lee.

Lanny Thompson stopped 14 out of 18 shots for the 3-3-1 Wolverines.

JV: Lee 3-1

Machias 3, Sumner 0

At Machias, Mike Little, Chase Ross and Patrick McDonald had a goal apiece as the Bulldogs blanked the Tigers of East Sullivan.

Jamie McCarthy notched two assists for 5-0 Machias. Marcus Frutchey stopped both shots he faced.

Mason Young had 15 saves on 18 shots for 0-4 Sumner.

Bangor Christian 5, Central 2

At Bangor, Ignacio Bustos scored twice as the Patriots rolled over the Red Devils.

Shane Murphy, Josh Griffin and Eric Sobey each chipped in with a goal for 4-1-1 Bangor Christian. Josh Frost added a goal and Aaron Wilson stopped nine of 16 shots.

Danny Kane and Nick Elliot had a goal apiece for 5-2 Central of Corinth and Levi Nickerson had an assist. Charles Haney made nine saves on 26 shots.

Field hockey

Nokomis 3, Foxcroft 2

At Newport, Kristi Kennedy scored two goals to help the Warriors improve to 3-2-1.

Alyssa Bragdon added a goal and her twin sister, Ashley Bragdon, chipped in with an assist for Nokomis. Jenna Veazie, Sarah Bradstreet and Michelle Barden each added an assist and Kirsten Gould made five saves on five shots.

For 2-4 Foxcroft, Ashley Smith made nine saves on 13 shots.

JV: Foxcroft 5-0

Piscataquis 4, Mattanawcook 1

At Guilford, Kelsey Martel had two goals and Kristi Levesque an goal plus an assist as the Pirates prevailed.

Heather Tracy added a goal and Nicole Santos an assist for 6-0 PCHS. Amy Knowlton had nine saves on 10 shots.

Michelle Paul scored off a pass from Bethany Libby for the 3-2-1 Lynx of Lincoln. Sarah French and Melany Markie made eight saves on 18 shots.

JV: Mattanawcook 2-0

Central 4, Brewer 1

At Corinth, Hilary Haney scored one goal and assisted on another to help lead the Central Red Devils past Brewer.

Beth Daupinee, Mackie Davis, and Jenny Rollins each scored one goal for the 1-4-1 Devils. Tiffany Tilton and Kara Voisine combined to make one save on three shots.

Jessica O’Connell scored the only goal for the 0-4 Witches. Zora Merrill saved one of 19 shots.

JV: Central 1-0

Hampden 2, Old Town 1

At Old Town, Gretchen Lescord and Erika Veinote scored unassisted goals as the Broncos remained unbeaten.

Michelle Wells had five saves on seven shots for 6-0 Hampden.

Kaleigh Dupuis scored unassisted for the 0-6 Indians. Kitty Campbell stopped eight out of 10 shots.

Belfast 8, Lincoln Acad. 0

At Belfast, Abi Maycock knocked in three goals and Sam Ellis two more as the Lions rolled.

Katie Nickerson notched a goal and three assists for 5-1 Belfast. Casey Muherin and Sophie Scott added a goal each and Bryna Harrington stopped all three shots she faced.

Jen Roche made 12 saves on 20 shots for the 1-4-1 Eagles of Newcastle.

Girls soccer

Ellsworth 1, Bangor 0

At Ellsworth, Monique Boutaugh scored on a direct kick with five minutes left in the game to lift the Eagles to the win.

Catie Craven made seven saves on 10 shots for 2-3-1 Ellsworth.

Ilyse Angst stopped four of seven shots for the 1-3 Rams.

GSA 2, Central 1 (2OT)

At Blue Hill Friday, Robin Rioux drilled a shot from the center of the 18-yard line into the upper left corner of the goal to give George Stevens Academy the win.

Laura Overton had scored with 5:47 remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime. Kayla Eaton made four saves on five shots.

Sadie Chretien scored off an Emily Blackwell assist for the Red Devils of Corinth and Nicole Daniel made 12 saves on 24 shots.

Calais 3, East Grand 1

At Danforth, Emily Smith, Darcy Gillespie and Kayla Cobb each scored unassisted goals for the 3-2 Blue Devils in the win.

Stephanie Perry had five saves on six shots for Calais.

Allie McKay scored unassisted for the 0-4 Vikings. Paula Osnoe stopped six out of nine shots.
