ATHENS, Greece – Tom Brown of Northeast Harbor dropped to second place overall in the 2.4 Metre class of the Paralympics Games after a pair of fifth-place finishes Tuesday.

“I couldn’t get off the line and that makes all the difference in the world,” said Brown in a news release from the U.S. Olympic Committee. “I was behind all day and had to do a lot of catching up.”

Damien Seguin of France leads the event after six races with 12 points, and Brown is second with 13 points. Thierry Schmitter of The Netherlands is third with 15 points.

Two more races in the nine-race series will be held today at the Agios Kosmas Sailing Centre.
