Social services worker reports threat on life

A Brewer woman was arrested Tuesday morning after she allegedly threatened to kill a social services worker with a butcher knife.

Sylvia Chase, 65, was holding the knife when she opened her door to the worker, who had arrived at 11:45 a.m. to deliver groceries, according to reports. Chase later pointed the knife in the worker’s face and allegedly said she was going to kill her.

The social services worker left Chase’s residence and called police. Police questioned Chase Tuesday morning and arrested her for criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

Bangor police arrested one man and summoned another Sunday after the two were questioned about purchasing drugs in a store parking lot.

Police responded at 4:30 p.m. to a report of a drug deal occurring in the parking lot of a Garland Street store. The caller reported overhearing a conversation about Valium between the occupants of two vehicles who had exchanged money, according to reports.

One of the vehicles was pulled over and the driver could not provide a license, according to reports. Jean Paul Taillon, 36, of Bar Harbor was summoned for operating after suspension. His passenger, Scott Martin, 42, of Bar Harbor, was arrested on a warrant out of Bar Harbor, according to reports.
