The headline of the article, “Catholic school future in limbo” (BDN, Aug. 7-8), was inappropriate and poorly chosen. Typical of the mainstream media today, you chose to distort the facts and mislead your readers to advance your own agenda.

There are several more accurate titles that should have been used. How about: “Doing whatever it takes”? Or maybe, “Devoted parents go the extra mile.” Another good choice, “Amazing accomplishments in fund raising.”

The Bangor Daily News was looking for a negative spin on a positive situation. Our beloved school has consistently grown more financially secure over the past 12 years. Enrollment is currently at 90 percent capacity.

There are enough true negatives in the world today without the BDN fabricating any. If you really wanted an “angle,” how about my personal favorite for a title to your story: “St. Agnes thriving despite diocesan apathy.” That is they key point that should have been expounded upon.
