KINGSTON, R.I. – Keith Mahaney, Dana Wilson, and Peter Gavett are among the players, coaches and teams from Maine who were inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday night during ceremonies at the University of Rhode Island.

Mahaney starred at the University of Maine, Wilson was a Husson College star, and Gavett was recognized for his play at Orono High School. Former high school stars honored included Westbrook’s Lisa Blais, Cony’s 1995 team, Matt Hancock of Lake Region, and Rumford’s Doug Roberts. High school coaching honorees were Dwight Littlefield of Valley High in Bingham, Bob Brewer of Cheverus, and Bob Fallon of Edward Little.

In the college ranks, coaches Joanne Palombo-McCallie of UMaine, Ray Bicknell of Bowdoin, and the 1998 University of Southern Maine women’s team were recognized. Prep honors went to player Sam Cassell and coach Max Good of Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield.
