STANDISH – Carlos Martinez scored 8:07 into the second overtime to give the UMaine-Fort Kent Bengals a 3-2 men’s soccer win over the Saint Joseph College Monks Saturday.

Anthony Lamar and Robert Rochester each scored for UM-Fort Kent and Martinez added an assist. Nicholas Thibodeau made 10 saves on 13 shots.

Shannon DeShield and Kyle Hengst each scored for Saint Joesph’s and Harrison Dean had an assist. Brian White stopped seven of 10 shots.

Colby 3, Trinity 1

At Hartford, Conn., Will Kinder scored at 27:18 of the first half to help Colby to the win Saturday.

Brian Kasarjian and Daniel Kiernan also scored for 2-2 Colby and Chris McFadyen had an assist. Brian Davidson stopped six of nine shots.

Rob Bialobrzeski scored for 0-4-2 Trinity. Eric Wunsch and Scott Johnson made five saves on 11 shots.

Southern Maine 2, R.I. College 2

At Gorham, Adam Bial scored twice as host Southern Maine tied Rhode Island College.

Holman Giraldo and Kyle Teizeira scored for Rhode Island College.

Chris Willard made seven saves on 10 shots for 5-0-2 USM. Sean Gonsalves made one save on six shots for 4-3-1 RIC.

UM-Farmington 3, UMPI 0

At Farmington, Andy Knox had a goal and an assist to lead the University of Maine at Farmington to the victory Saturday.

Craig Cameron and Tyler Hartshorn each scored a second-half goal for 4-2 UMF. Seabren Reeves and Eric Stailing combined to make four saves on four shots.

Mike Latchford stopped nine of 12 shots for the 2-5-1 University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Thomas 2, Maine Maritime 1

At Waterville, Tyler Simpson scored on a Chris Inzerillo assist to give Thomas College the win on Saturday.

Inzerillo scored 2-2-1 Thomas’ first goal in the second half and Ryan Conrad made four saves on 11 shots.

Ben Tourangeau scored on a Chad McDuffie assist at 33:34 in the first half for Maine Maritime Academy. Josh Heath stopped seven of 17 shots.

Women’s soccer

Bay Path 3, MMA 2

At Longmeadow, Mass., Sunday, Tianna Carr, Amanda Janik and Devon Launchman each scored as Bay Path earned a win.

Cheryl Kuezynski had two assists and Amanda Janik added one assist. Denise Larochelle made eight saves for 8-1 Bay Path.

Lindsey Comeau and Kristen Gaylord each scored for the 4-2-1 Mariners. Amy Asselin had an assist and Megan Marshall made 20 saves.

UM-Fort Kent 9, UM-Augusta 0

At Augusta, Maria Williams scored four goals and assisted another to help the University of Maine at Fort Kent to the win on Saturday.

Amber Nadeau had two goals and an assist for UM-Fort Kent and Kristine Cyr scored a goal and had three assists. Michelle Bourgoin had a goal and an assist and Polly Pelletier added a goal. Kara Jackson made three saves on six shots.

UM-Farmington 7, UMPI 0

At Farmington, Erin Campbell and Jodie Welch each had two goals to help push the University of Maine at Farmington to the win on Saturday.

Molly Hagstrom and Bailly Hovey both had a goal and an assist for 2-3-1 UM-Farmington. Molly Bell added a goal as Melissa Demerchant, Aliz Raymond, Kerry Kowalczyk combined for the shutout with two saves.

Anna Lenentine stopped three shots for the 2-4 University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Trinity 4, Colby 1

At Hartford, Conn., Erin Bridge scored twice to lead Trinity past Colby on Saturday.

Nicole Mauger had a goal and an assist for 4-2 Trinity. Kristen Geiger also scored a goal as Brenna Shield made seven saves on 15 shots.

Laura Willimason scored on a Katie McCabe assist in the second half for 2-2-1 Colby. Liza Benson and Elizabeth Riley combined to stop two of seven shots.

R.I. College 2, St. Joseph’s 0

At Standish, Caitlin Gavin scored an unassisted goal 4:07 into the match to lead Rhode Island College to the win Sunday.

Gina Calenda also scored for 4-4 Rhode Island. Alex Rothemich made two saves on three shots.

Cheryl Northrop and Shana Howard combined to make 17 saves on 32 shots.

St. Joseph’s 6, Mitchell 0

At Standish, Allison Walton and Michelle Crisp both scored two goals to lead Saint Joseph’s College to the victory on Saturday.

Kasey Darnell and Danielle McLaughlin each scored a goal for Saint Joseph’s. Kelly Cyr had two assists as Shaina Howard and Darnell made no saves on one shot.

Moriah Anderson stopped 16 of 24 shots for Mitchell College.

Southern Maine 2, R.I. College 1

At Gorham, Liz Brunton of Birch Harbor scored 1:02 into the second sudden-death overtime to give the University of Southern Maine the win Saturday.

Marcy Ansley made three saves on eight shots for the 3-3-2 Huskies. Melissa Carpenter made three saves on 17 shots for 3-4 Rhode Island College.

Field hockey

Thomas 4, Husson 2

At Waterville, Meredith Arute had three goals and an assist to lead Thomas past Husson on Saturday.

Molly Tibbetts also scored for 4-5 Thomas and Jen Lane made 10 saves on 15 shots.

Nicole Palmer scored both 1-5 Husson goals. KaroleAnne Emery had an assist as Cindy Koscielny and Courtney Ellis combined to make 14 saves on 22 shots.

Trinity 1, Colby 0 (OT)

At Hartford, Conn., Marisa Shutte scored the winning goal for Trinity on a Jessica Baker assist 4:02 into overtime Saturday.

Courtney Bergh stopped three of five shots for 4-1 Trinity. Jamie Enos stopped 10 of 18 shots for 3-2 Colby.

Maine 4, Rhode Island 0

At Orono Saturday, Traci Rainone had two goals and an assist to power the Black Bears.

Rachael Hilgar chipped in with a goal and an assist as Maine improved to 8-3. Meagan Connolly added a goal off an assist from Shaunessy Saucier and Jamie Morin stopped all six Rhode Island shots.

M.J. Britt made 17 saves on 21 shots for the 1-6 Rams.

UM-Farmington 2, Simmons 1

At Farmington Sunday, the Beavers won on penalty strokes after neither team could convert in double-overtime.

Katie Gorham gave UMF a 1-0 edge with 18:30 left in regulation but Tanya Rego of Simmons tied it six minutes later. Mary Berry and Mary Sinclair each knocked in a penalty stroke for the Beavers while the Sharks missed all four attempts.

Ashleigh Biette made nine saves on 11 shots for UMF. Tiffany Collins had nine saves on 27 shots for 4-4 Simmons.

Simmons 3, Thomas 1

At Waterville Saturday, Tanya Rego had a goal and two assists to lift the Sharks.

Abigail Hamilton and Annie Hennigan also scored for Simmons. Tiffany Collins stopped two of eight shots.

Meredith Arute scored for the 3-5 Terriers and Jen Lane made five saves on 12 shots.

E. Connecticut 2, So. Maine 1

At Gorham on Saturday, Laura Bratz scored with no time left on the clock off a penalty corner to give Eastern Connecticut the victory.

Kayla Vaughan of Monroe scored to give 0-9 USM a 1-0 lead. Stephanie Mongelli tied the game for 3-5 Eastern Connecticut.

USM’s Sadie Garnache-Poirier made four saves on eight shots. Eastern Connecticut’s Damaly Auguste made five saves on eight shots.

Volleyball

Maine 3, Waterloo 0

At Orono, junior Kaili Jordan had 14 kills and eight digs to help the University of Maine past the University of Waterloo 30-22, 30-22, 30-25 on Saturday.

Shelly Seipp had 33 set assists and six digs for the Black Bears and Jody Connacher added 14 digs.

Gaby Lesniak had 12 kills for Waterloo and Amanda Verhoeve had 12 digs.
