Delong lifts Wildcats past Bangor in 2OT

BANGOR – Katie Delong scored the second of her two goals in the second overtime to lift the Presque Isle Wildcats to a 4-3 schoolgirl soccer victory over the Bangor Rams Monday.

Natasha Deschene and Angela Norsworthy added goals and Mariah Morris an assist for 9-0 Presque Isle. Brianna Young had nine saves on 12 shots.

Amy Hackett scored twice and Emily Heath added another for the 2-4 Rams. Serena Dubois had an assist. Ilyse Angst made 12 saves on 16 shots.

Lee 4, So. Aroostook 0

At Dyer Brook, Shelby Pickering scored three goals to lead Lee by the Southern Aroostook Warriors.

Brooke Harris added a goal for the 9-0 winners and Kim Thurlow and Aarika Ritchie each notched an assist. Jackie Moors made two saves on four shots.

For the 8-3 Warriors, Erin Caswell and Audrey Charette made 23 saves on 32 shots.

Piscataquis 2, Penquis 1

At Milo, Whitney Sinclair scored a pair of goals for Piscataquis of Guilford.

Kate Hamlin scored for Penquis.

Jill Martell made seven saves on 12 shots for Piscataquis, while Michelle Mulherin made seven saves on nine shots for Penquis.

Searsport 6, Bangor Christian 0

At Searsport, Nori Francis-Mezger scored two goals and added an assist as the Vikings improved to 8-0.

Sarah Fuller, Annette Anderson, Breanne Kingsbury, and Amee Nielson each added a goal for the Vikings. Gracie Messinger, Tatjana Francis-Mezger and Theresa Cameron had an assist apiece and April Pickering made nine saves on 13 shots.

For 4-3-2 BC, Johannah Kutz made 20 saves on 28 shots.

Dexter 1, Central 0

At Dexter, Sabrina Cote scored unassisted in the first half as the Tigers improved to 3-4. Ashley Richardson had 10 saves on 15 shots for Dexter.

Nicole Daniels stopped nine out of 12 shots for the 3-3-1 Red Devils of Corinth.

Ellsworth 1, Orono 1 (2OT)

At Ellsworth, Monique Boutaugh scored for the Eagles and Katie Kirby for the Riots as they played to a stalemate.

Jillian Robertson had an assist for 1-4-3 Orono. Amanda Morrison had eight saves on 15 shots.

Catie Cravens stopped five out of seven shots for the 3-3-2 Eagles.

JV: Ellsworth 2-1

PVHS 9, DI-Stonington 0

At Deer Isle, Tiffany Brown scored three goals and split time in net with Jenn Plourde (three saves, three shots) as the Howlers of Howland rolled.

Randy Rackley, Holly Drost, Ashley Dawson, Plourde, Jamie Milton and Kelsey Lavertu each had a goal for 7-1 PVHS.

Regyn Lawry had 20 saves on 29 shots for the 1-6 Mariners.

Caribou 1, Nokomis 0

At Newport Saturday, Shelby Cousins scored with 7:05 left in the second half to boost the Vikings.

Billie Martin made two saves on three shots for 4-3-2 Caribou.

Rozlyn Peterson stopped 16 of 30 shots for the 0-7 Warriors.

Boys soccer

Jonesport-Beals 2, Woodland 1

At Woodland, James Kelley’s unassisted goal with 29:42 left in the game gave the Royals the winning edge.

Travis Weisberger scored off a penalty kick with 15 seconds left in the first half for 1-6 J-B and Ben Ellis finished with 16 saves on 17 shots.

Adam Knowles scored a first-half unassisted goal for the 1-5 Dragons and Craig Moody made seven saves on nine shots.

Washington Acad. 2, Shead 0

At Eastport, Greg Simmons and Minn Nguwen scored in the second half to lift the Raiders of East Machias to the win.

David Roth had an assist for 6-1 WA. Jeremy Gray had four saves on 10 shots.

Craig Hastings stopped eight out of 17 shots for the 5-4 Tigers.

Machias 4, Calais 0

At Calais, Jamie McCarthy scored all four goals as the Bulldogs rolled.

Marcus Frutchey had seven saves on 16 shots for 8-0 Machias.

Nick Provencher rejected nine out of 13 shots for the 5-3 Blue Devils.

MCI 7, Oak Hill 2

At Sabattus, Mark Trombley racked up three goals and Don Lee added two more as the Huskies of Pittsfield cruised.

Pedro Puigarnau scored a goal and added two assists while Kyle Liimatainen scored a goal. Tristan Goewey made four saves on 12 shots for 5-4 Maine Central Institute.

Mike Eaton and Brian Bisson each scored a goal for the 1-7-1 Raiders. John Daggett stopped six of 20 shots.
