ROCKPORT – A Warren woman was dead at the scene of a collision Saturday at the intersection of Rockville Street and Route 17.
Virginia Lufkin, 76, of Warren was traveling west on Rockville Street and stopped at a stop sign at the intersection with Route 17.
She began to cross Route 17, but drove her 2003 Chevrolet Impala into the path of a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo driven by Geoffrey Guist, 18, of Camden.
Guist’s vehicle struck Lufkin’s car in the driver’s door, said Craig Cooley, administrative assistant for Rockport police.
Guist and his passenger, Christopher Davis, 19, of Rockland, were taken for treatment to Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport. They have been released.
All three people were wearing seat belts, Cooley said.
Rockport police Officer Travis Ford was assisted at the scene by Maine State Trooper Mark Coleman. Coleman will reconstruct the collision.
