A Sorrento man arrested in Orono early Saturday for allegedly threatening a partygoer with a gun remained in Penobscot County Jail on Tuesday night.

Witnesses from a party at 163 Bennoch Road told police that Jeremy Everly, 23, became upset and pointed a BB gun in another man’s face, according to Sgt. Scott Scripture of the Orono Police Department.

The gun was designed to look like a Beretta handgun, he said.

Everly then left the party at approximately 1:45 a.m. and was spotted and pursued by Orono police, Scripture said. Everly continued driving on Bennoch Road and turned right onto Main Street, reaching a speed of 60 mph in the 25-mph zone, he said.

Everly was stopped at the Big Apple convenience store on Main Street, where it was discovered he was on probation and had two arrest warrants from Hancock County, Scripture said. Everly was charged with assault, criminal threatening, operating with a revoked license, failure to give a correct name and address, and exceeding the speed limit by 30 mph or more.

An alleged assault at the Brewer High School baseball field Tuesday afternoon sent one girl to the hospital.

The juvenile was complaining of head pain and short-term memory loss when police arrived at 4 p.m. The alleged assault occurred near the baseball dugouts and began when the victim insulted another girl’s friend, according to police.

One of the two alleged assailants, both juvenile girls, was wearing a cast and used it to hit the victim in the head, according to police. The victim was treated at Eastern Maine Medical Center for a possible concussion.

One of the suspects was summoned for assault and disorderly conduct, and the same charges are pending against the other assailant, according to police.

A Bradley man escaped serious injury Tuesday afternoon by jumping off his motorcycle just before it was struck by a pickup truck in Old Town.

Herbert Kenny, 29, had stopped behind another vehicle on Main Street to allow a pedestrian to cross at 3 p.m., according to police. Kenny saw a truck quickly approaching behind him, driven by Karen Meservy, 45, of Bradley, and jumped off his motorcycle just before being hit.

The 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which ended up underneath Meservy’s truck, had an estimated $15,000 in damage, according to police. Meservy’s 1998 GMC pickup truck had minimal damage.

A woman was summoned by police after she allegedly hit a car on Bolling Drive in Bangor on Monday afternoon and then drove away.

Elissa Lane, 35, of Bangor, was questioned at 9 p.m. after a witness to the accident wrote down her plate number and forwarded it to police, according to reports. Lane allegedly admitted to hitting the car but said she did not stop because she didn’t think any damage was done.

Lane later saw damage to the front passenger’s side of her vehicle, but said she was afraid to return to the scene of the accident, according to reports. She was summoned for leaving the scene of a property-damage accident.
