FORT WAYNE, Ind. – BFGoodrich is recalling 46,000 passenger car and light truck tires because of poor ride quality and possible problems with the steel belts.

The tire maker said Wednesday there have been no accidents, injuries or property damage claims filed because of the problems.

The recall covers tires made in April at the Fort Wayne plant under such brand names as BFGoodrich, Uniroyal, Liberator, Medalist, Phantom and Prospector. The tires have identification numbers that begin with “DOT BF” and end with 1504 or 1604.

All recalled tires will be replaced free.
