CASTINE – Craig Cameron’s goal late in the second overtime gave the University of Maine-Farmington a 2-1 victory over Maine Maritime Academy on Wednesday in men’s soccer action.

Nate Ghelli had tied the game for 5-2 UMF midway through the second half with an assist from Andrew Harner. Seabren Reeves made six saves on 21 shots.

MMA’s Anthony Blair opened the scoring early in the second half, and Josh Heath made 12 saves on 24 shots for the 1-4-2 Mariners.

Colby 1, Southern Maine 1 (2OT)

At Gorham, Colby’s Monty Hankin scored on a header in the 76th minute but neither the White Mules nor the Huskies could score again.

Adam Bial put in a second-half goal for 5-0-3 Southern Maine. Andy Budelman recorded the assist, and Chris Willard made five saves on 20 shots.

Dan Kiernan assisted on Hankin’s goal. Brian Davidson stopped two of eight shots for 2-2-1 Colby.

UMFK 1, UMPI 0

At Presque Isle, Carlos Martinez scored an unassisted goal five minutes into the second half and Nick Thibodeau made seven saves on nine shots to give UM-Fort Kent its win over rival UM-Presque Isle.

Braden Dragomir made 11 saves on 12 shots for the Owls.

Women’s soccer

Colby 4, Husson 0

At Bangor, Laura Williamson scored three goals, including two in the first half, to power the White Mules of Waterville by the Eagles.

Williamson scored her first goal off a corner kick while Kaitlin Herlihy assisted on the second goal and Kara McCabe on the third. Elizabeth Riley made five saves on seven shots for 3-2-1 Colby.

Leah Drew made 10 saves on 19 shots for 1-4-2 Husson.

St. Joseph’s 1, UMF 1 (2OT)

At Standish, Danielle McLaughlin scored a second-half goal for St. Joseph’s to tie the University of Maine-Farmington and send it to the scoreless overtime periods.

Shana Howard made six saves on 20 shots for St. Joseph’s.

Jodie Welch scored a first-half goal for UMF off an Erin Campbell pass. Melissa Demerchant made six saves on 13 shots.

Field hockey

Plymouth State 3, USM 2 (2OT)

At Gorham, Christina Farias scored the game-winning goal for the Panthers on a Caitlin Moran assist with 2:53 left in the second overtime.

Melanie Bates scored a goal and assisted on another for 6-2 Plymouth State. Lilly Silva scored a second-half goal and Moran had two assists. Katie Randall stopped five of 11 shots.

Kayla Vaughan scored a goal and assisted another for 0-10 University of Southern Maine and Alyson Lumino scored the second goal. Sadie Garnache-Poirier made 16 saves on 24 shots.
