Gordon goals lead Bucksport to win

BUCKSPORT – Lindsey Gordon scored two goals Saturday as Bucksport earned a 3-0 schoolgirl soccer victory over Nokomis of Newport.

Jill Richards had one goal for 6-1-1 Bucksport. Katie Allen, Jen Murauckas and Terren Hall each helped with an assist. Katie Hurd faced one shot, but did not make a save.

Calais 5, Houlton 0

At Calais, Kayla Cobb scored two goals to push the Blue Devils to the win.

Darcy Gillespie scored a goal and assisted on two others for 4-4-2 Calais. Danielle Feck had a goal and an assist and Courtney Taylor added a goal. Stephanie Perry stopped seven of 10 shots.

Central 3, DI-Stonington 0

At Corinth, Molly Chretien, Sadie Chretien and Erica Brownell each scored a goal to help lead Central to the win.

Regyn Lowry stopped 19 of 23 shots for 1-8 Deer Isle-Stonington.

Shead 7, East Grand 2

At Danforth, Patricia Candelano and Laureta Ricker each scored two goals to help lead Shead of Eastport to the win.

Skylar Richardson scored a goal and assisted on three others for 8-2 Shead. Celia Cummings and Shelly Melanson added a goal each. Brittany Cox stopped eight of 10 shots.

Kelsey Daoust and Sarah Rodier each scored a goal for 0-7-1 East Grand and Paula Osnoe made six saves on 13 shots.

Caribou 2, Ellsworth 1

At Ellsworth, Michelle Ouellette scored the winning goal off a Shelby Cousins assist with seven minutes left to push Caribou to the victory.

Emily Miller scored a goal off an Ashley Oleson assist nine minutes into the game for 3-5-2 Ellsworth. Catie Cravens stopped five of 11 shots.

JV: 1-1

Presque Isle 10, MDI 0

At Presque Isle, Katie Delong scored two goals and notched two assists and Sarah Gonsiorski added two goals to help the Wildcats roll by Mount Desert Island.

For 1-4-4 MDI, Asia Ross made 16 saves on 26 shots.

JV: Presque Isle 2-1

Boys soccer

Ellsworth 6, Caribou 0

At Ellsworth, Jensen Rich scored three goals to pace the Eagles past the Vikings.

Noah Jordan added a goal and an assist, and Demetrios Katsiaficas had a goal apiece. Alex Wentworth, Pat Nabozny, and Taylor Wentworth each had an assist. Cory Smith made two saves on eight shots for 9-1 Ellsworth.

Brad Ala made eight saves on 18 shots for 7-4 Caribou.

JV: 0-0

Presque Isle 6, MDI 0

At Presque Isle, Sam Mathers scored three goals to lift Presque Isle past Mount Desert Island.

Nate Carter had a goal and four assists for 8-2 Presque Isle, and Jeff Cole and Jared Dickinson each added a goal. Greg Whitaker and Chris Carlin each had an assist. Brad Baker stopped all four shots.

Max Blanford made 12 saves on 18 shots for the 5-5 Trojans.

JV: Presque Isle 3-0

Houlton 2, Calais 0

At Calais, Ryan Brewer scored the first goal on a direct kick in the first half to help lead Houlton to the win.

Aaron Fitz added a first-half goal for 4-5-1 Houlton and Eben Thompson made 11 saves on 19 shots.

Corey Johnson stopped 24 of 35 shots for 5-6 Calais.

Nokomis 3, Bucksport 1

At Newport, Mat Thornton scored a goal and assisted on another to pace Nokomis to its first victory.

Corey Harding and Eben McDaniel each scored a goal for the 1-9 Warriors and John Stinsman had an assist. Wayne May made eight saves on 12 shots.

Caleb Grindle scored a second-half goal on an Alex Pappas assist for 1-7-1 Bucksport. Miles Bisher stopped 18 of 27 shots.

JV: Nokomis 1-0

Central 2, DI-Stonington 1

At Corinth, Charles Haney scored the game-winner on a Thomas Robbins assist in overtime.

Scott Kelley had the 6-4-1 Red Devils’ first goal, while Charles Haney made 10 saves on 13 shots.

Nick Ciomei scored and Thomas Robbins saved 32 of 37 shots for the 4-5 Mariners.

Penquis 4, Searsport 2

At Milo, Adam Ballash netted two goals as the Patriots took a win from Searsport.

Ethan McHatten and Ryan Shute scored for the 2-5-2 Vikings. Omar Charr and Kyle Ritchie each had an assist, while Mike Tufts saved nine of 16 shots.

Field hockey

Belfast 6, Erskine Academy 0

At South China, Britt Cummings scored two goals to push Belfast to the victory.

Jill Ross and Britt Reed each had a goal and an assist for 10-0 Belfast. Jamie Flagg and Brooke Reed each added a goal. Liz Anderson stopped all four shots.

Nicole Plaisted made 13 saves on 19 shots for 2-7 Erskine Academy.

JV: Belfast 2-0
